Dr. Sam Salemink-Harry was an undergraduate at the University of Delaware and earned his masters and doctorate at Oregon State University. His graduate research focused on the fundamental fluid-, wave-, and geo-mechanics of hazards related to tsunami-like waves using laboratory experiments. As a postdoctoral researcher at UW-Madison, Sam studies the impact of water waves on biophysical processes in lakes including nutrient suspension, light availability, and ice quality. He is interested in wave-driven fluid dynamics across a range of applications such as extreme natural hazards and events, transport of boulders and sediment, as well as laboratory methods.
